Virginia State Fair

Saturday, September 27th

Our show will be at the State Fair again this year, on Saturday, September 27th. I’m attaching our Show Rules, Entry Forms and New Member Form.

Also, the VJSBA will be running the Food Booth at the Ram Test Sale on Saturday, August 23rd. Where among other items, we will be selling Lamb BBQ. Please encourage people to attend, as this is a big fundraiser for us to help fund our show.

Lambing Due-Date Calculator:

Gestation in sheep varies from 142 to 152 days with the average being 147 days. Just like people, individual pregnancies can vary, gestation periods of 138 to 159 days are not unheard of. Ewes carrying multiple lambs tend to have shorter gestations while male lambs (and heavy birth weight lambs) are usually carried for longer than female lambs. The form above calculates the lambing date based on a 147 day gestation period.
